The course will be held in Italian.
Often during osteopathic therapy, there is not enough time for the osteopath to treat all those aspects that influence the patient’s health, e.g. restrictions in joint mobility, muscle elasticity, strength reduction that affects stability. Also, this type of work could require multiple sessions over a short period of time, which is often incompatible with patient’s work hours and family life and involves high costs.
For these reasons, the use of tailored exercises becomes an essential tool in the osteopath’s hands to define the therapeutic pathway and lead the patient to the solution of the dysfunctional clinical picture.
During the course, we will use the anatomy, biomechanics and motor functions to present preparatory exercises both for the osteopathic treatment and the development of motor skills essential for the improvement of the patient’s clinical condition.
We will illustrate specifically designed exercises that fit the patient’s diagnosis. Also, we will explain the methods to create exercises that are useful and effective. The exercises must result from a process that involves reasoning, creativity and the ability to develop and update the solutions during the therapeutic process. Today’s exercises could be the wrong choice for tomorrow’s clinical condition of the patient.
– to increase the therapeutic action of the osteopathic treatment,
– to learn how to choose and create exercises that support the clinical solution of the patient’s condition.
The course will last two days. After a theoretical introduction, we will focus on the treatment through therapeutic exercises applied to the various body regions during the first day and a half.
In the last half-day, we will focus on real cases. We will analyse the patient’s clinical and functional condition and apply the most suitable and specific exercises.
The therapeutic exercises will concern the following body regions:
– cervical area,
– upper extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand),
– thoracic cage,
– lumbar spine,
– lower extremities (hip, knee, ankle, foot).
22nd – 23rd November 2021, from 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. (Italian time zone)
