1. Introductory Remarks: Osteopathic Principles & Treatment
Applied to Conception, Pregnancy, Birth & Postnatal care.
Practical: Palpation, Quality of Contact & Treatment Approach.
2. Preparation for Pregnancy.
Anatomy of Pelvis, Cranial Base, Pituitary, Fascial connections longitudinal & transverse
Practical: Addressing general structural issues relating to conception & preparation fro pregnancy.
Treatment of Pelvis, Sacrum, Thoraco-Lumbar & Cranial Base
3. 1st Trimester Considerations
Hormonal Changes, Nausea & Vomiting of Pregnancy, Gastro Oesophageal Reflux, Fatigue, Headache
Practical: 12th Rib, Thoraco-Lumbar Junction, Diaphragm, Liver Turn, Temporals, Vagus, & Lateral Fluctuation.
4. 2nd Trimester Considerations
Postural Changes, Low Back Pain, Pelvic Instability.
General Health Considerations, Increased Physiological Demands, of Respiration and Circulation, Urinary Frequency.
Practical: Treatment Approaches to the Low Back & Pelvis Pelvic Instability, Sacroiliac Joints, Symphysis Pubis, Uterus & Bladder
5. Pelvic Congestion
Constipation, Varicosities, Lymphoedema
Practical: Visceral Mesenteric & Colon Release; Pelvic Floor; Practical: – Lymphatic Siphon
6. 3rd Trimester Considerations
Systemic Health, Cholestasis, Hypertension, Pre-eclampsia, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Optimal Fetal Positioning
Practical: Assisting the Optimal Foetal Position. Considerations of Respiration & Circulation; Thorax.
7. Exploring the Role of Osteopathy at Birth
Practical: Sacral Release, Bilateral Pelvic Spread Enhancing A/P & Lateral Diameter Of Pelvis Cranial Base Spread; CV4
Optimal Feeding, Management & Osteopathic Considerations for Mother & Infant
Treatment of a Pregnant Woman
9. Post Natal Care
Pelvic Recovery, Sacral Position Post Natal Depression
Practical: Treatment of Sacral Sag, Anterior Sacral Lift. Cranial Base & Central Nervous System
10. The Maternal Thorax & Cervical Spine
Breast Health & Peripheral Symptoms e.g. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Practical: Treatment of The Thoracic Inlet, R1 & R2, & Upper Thorax, Breast, Forearm, Wrist & Carpus.
From 9.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and 2.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
The cost of the course is € 600.
The course will be held at the centre in Via Cardinale Mezzofanti n.13, Milan (Milano Forlanini Railway Station).
